Product description
Product description
The GoodWe HCA G2 series of wired AC electric car chargers is designed for home and small business use. The series is available in 7, 11, and 22 kW versions, for single-phase and three-phase networks.
The 7 kW GW7K-HCA-20 operates on a single-phase, 230 V network with a rated current of 32 A. The GW11K-HCA-20 is a three-phase, 11 kW version, operating on a 400 V network with a rated current of 16 A. The GW22K-HCA-20 is also a three-phase version, with a power of 22 kW and a rated current of 32 A.
The chargers are equipped with a 7.5-meter fixed Type 2 charging cable. Charging can be initiated via an application, RFID card, or automatic start. Communication is available via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RS485, and LAN connections.
The GoodWe HCA G2 series supports multiple operating modes, such as fast charging, PV priority, PV + battery-based charging, timed charging, and dynamic load balancing. In a GoodWe inverter system, these functions can help synchronize solar power generation and car charging.
The device housing has IP66 protection, and the Type 2 charging connector is rated IP55. The chargers operate with natural cooling, with a noise level of <20 dB. Built-in protection features include AC 30 mA + DC 6 mA residual current protection, overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating, ground fault protection, Type III AC overvoltage protection, and emergency stop.

How do I choose the right home EV charger?
How do I choose the right home EV charger?
When choosing a home car charger, compatibility and available power are paramount.
First, it's worth checking the maximum charging power your car supports (e.g., 1 phase / 3 phase, kW), as the charger will need to match this. A more powerful charger does not necessarily mean faster charging if the car cannot utilize its full capacity.
Additionally, it's important to consider the capacity of your property's electrical grid to ensure the charger can operate safely and not overload the system.
If you're thinking long-term, it's worth choosing a charger with smart features (e.g., scheduling, load management, integration with solar systems) that allow for more efficient and economical use.
What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase chargers?
What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase chargers?
The main difference between single-phase and three-phase chargers lies in their charging power and grid requirements.
Single-phase chargers typically provide 3.6–7.4 kW of power, making them ideal primarily for systems with lower power consumption or lower charging needs.
Three-phase chargers, on the other hand, can deliver up to 11 or 22 kW of power, allowing for significantly faster charging.
However, it is important to note that faster charging is only achievable if both the electrical grid and the car support three-phase charging. Without this, the system will operate at limited power.
If you are unsure about your choice, it is advisable to check the technical specifications of both your property and your vehicle in advance to avoid oversizing or undersizing.
How long does it take to charge an electric car?
How long does it take to charge an electric car?
The charging time of an electric car depends on the battery size and the charger's power.
For an average battery with a capacity of ~60 kWh:
From a standard household socket (2.3 kW): approx. 24–30 hours
With an 11 kW wall charger: approx. 5–7 hours
With a 22 kW charger: approx. 3–5 hours (only if the car supports it)
It's important to note that charging in practice is not linear (it slows down towards the end), so the actual time may always be slightly longer.
If you regularly charge your car at home, a wall charger is a significantly faster and safer solution than a traditional socket.
Can you charge a car with solar panels?
Can you charge a car with solar panels?
Yes, an electric car can also be charged from solar panels, provided there is a suitable system.
This requires an inverter and a charger that can work with the solar panel system and prioritize the use of the generated energy.
Many modern car chargers have a "PV optimized" or "solar priority" mode, which primarily adapts charging to the available solar energy.
If the system also includes a battery, the energy generated during the day can be used later to charge the car, thus achieving even greater energy independence.
What warranty applies to car chargers?
What warranty applies to car chargers?
In most cases, a 2-5 year manufacturer's warranty applies, ensuring the reliable operation of the device under normal use.
The exact warranty conditions are specified for each product, allowing you to clearly check the duration and terms of the warranty before purchase.
If needed, we can also help you navigate warranty matters and choose the right product.
