Fire-rated dampers
Fireman's switches are crucial safety components in the electrical protection of solar panel systems. Their purpose is to quickly disconnect the direct current (DC) line between the solar panels and the inverter in an emergency (such as a fire or short circuit), thereby preventing current backflow and further damage. These disconnectors thus enable rescue and firefighting operations to be carried out safely, as the system becomes de-energized.
Modern fireman's switches can be operated manually or automatically and are compatible with both residential and industrial solar panel installations. They are typically designed with IP65 or higher protection, making them suitable for outdoor use. Selecting the appropriate disconnector increases system safety and is often a mandatory requirement for new installations or expansions.
